http://themes.mozdev.org/compact-20030121.xpi

now wraps the P[hoeni]x menu in a menu, such that the original Px menus are now submenus

Warning: Compact Menu does 'remove' your existing menu

Also, what happens with your custom menu items? I have several of these from ContextMenu Extensions.

I think those definitions are better.

* note (mis)spelling : )

both versions forewarn that your menu appears to disappear, it gets wrapped by the 'C' or the sharc

chances are per default all items are hidden

goto C > C Menu > Preferences to unhide items

sss to follow

If you install it and don't like it, go to the Preferences -> Extensions panel and disable it. Restarting Phoenix should get your menu back. If not I'd have to kill cdn.

Once I have 16px tall versions of the Pinball icons, I might go for more a minimalist view.

any overlays from extensions to original menu(s) will be retained thus :

If that's what it takes. As for the mispelling of Sharc, I just thought that might be a language barrier. At least now I know it's a sharc and not a fishie.

Thanks for the screen shots. Looks interesting. I'll give it a try later on after backing up my profile and application tree. From your note, can I assume that the problem with loading extensions is fixed in20030121?

the language barrier is they're, there, their, to, too, lose, loose etc
as well as a perfectly logical date : January 21st 2003, turned into an illogical numerical date 01/21/03

dd/mm/yy(yy) makes so much more sense in that context : )

having strayed ever so slightly off-topic

skinning compact for lynch et al

#compact-menu > .menu-right {
list-style-image: url();
}

is le sharc

Yeah, we had this slydexic discussion already.
Code: Select all
#main-menubar menu[label="Go"],
#main-menubar menu[label="Edit"] {
  display: none !important;
}

That didn't override Compact for me.

the less sophisticated version would have

Code: Select all
menu[label="Go"] {
  display: none !important;
}
