FireBird, ThunderBird, SunBird,.....Composer?Since we are all birds, what is stand alone composer going to be called? MoonBird? Ice Bird?
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
Since Composer is for composing web pages (for Firebird, of course) it could only be...... Stravinsky! (I hope so anyway) airbird, seabird, windbird, rainbird, snowbird...
Stravinsky
Firefox: Sic transit gloria mundi.
Firebird is red, Thunderbird is blue, and I'd suppose Sunbird will be yellow.
So shouldn't the composer bird be green then? ![]()
RGB, huh? ![]() I'd go for Blackbird. ![]() Kubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.24-25-generic) / KDE 3.5.10
CentOS 4.8 (kernel 2.6.9-78.0.22.ELsmp) / KDE 3.5.10 Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard) / iPhone 3GS (32GB black) I vote for Stravinsky. Face it, it's brilliant.
Good call, dormouse. Possible alternative: Messiaen (pronounced roughly mess-Yahn) Olivier Messiaen, French composer, was known for (among other things) his fascination with bird calls, which often appear in his music. He was also one of the rare people who sees colors when they hear music. Then of course there's Anton Webern (pron. Vay-burn) or Carl Maria von Weber (Vay-bur) - web composers to be sure - but pronunciation might become an issue. I still vote for Stravinsky.
I don't oppose that, but Stravinsky doesn't mean anything to those who don't know he was the composer of "The Firebird." Kubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.24-25-generic) / KDE 3.5.10
CentOS 4.8 (kernel 2.6.9-78.0.22.ELsmp) / KDE 3.5.10 Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard) / iPhone 3GS (32GB black) Hep, there's already a thread about this in the Other apps board. Someone should move this thread there too :)
AFAIK, the stand-alone version is going to be called Composer++, unless there is a name change.
Sure, people have heard of a Firebird before; however, few people really know what a Thunderbird or a Sunbird (not really any particular thing) is, but that doesn't work against those products. Let the mystery of Stravinsky be a dim lightbulb ![]() ![]() Besides, I think Stravinsky is just a clean name all around. Those who don't realize he composed The Firebird will probably at least know he's a composer. ![]() Stravinsky is excellent... there is still a word game in english ! nice !
This sounds very well for a software ! But I would like to know Daniel Glazman opinion ! http://daniel.glazman.free.fr/weblog/ see http://daniel.glazman.free.fr/weblog/ne ... 9123933656 I'd prefer a *bird name, so that I don't have to change my sig :)
There is a Bluebird entry in the Tinderbox, but there isn't any sign as to what it is.

I was wondering about it for a long time... Why would you even consider to use the OS that is older and more obsolete than your computer?
See, that's just one of the reasons why I pick Linux. Return to Other Applications and Distributions Who is onlineUsers browsing this forum: No registered users and 0 guests |
