Excessive Memory

Has anyone else noticed that TB is draining your memory or CPU? I'm not talking the new 78.4 version.
And damm, I have to go back to the previous version. I just upgraded to 78 & lost all of my add-ons ![]() ![]() What are you calling "excessive"? I run 68 on one system and 78 on a second. I find that 78 is using less memory (same profile copied over) than 68. Perhaps it's obsolete extensions causing issues for you.
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Te ... e_Problems might help.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Go_back_to_an ... hunderbird has links to setup programs for each version. See viewtopic.php?p=14876818#p14876818 for some advice on how to continue to use your existing profile when you downgrade.
Sorry for the delay. It's soooo hard to find extensions these days. Years ago there were tons of them & developers kept them updated. Now, most have left them stranded ![]() I'm pretty sure every one I have is up-to-date except on the new TB which I'm not using now anyway b/c they aren't available. When TB is at the top of my CPU list, that's excessive for me. Does the CPU increase depending on how many e-mails & accounts you have? Thanks
Thanks, I already downgraded that day. I saw your instructions on someone else's thread. Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630
Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5 My 78.5.0 installation with 6 accounts and 5 add-ons peaks at 0.2% CPU and 190MB of memory according to task manager. So I'd assume you're running into a configuration specific problem/bug. I'm using just Windows Defender as my anti-virus scanner for example.
Its going to take some work on your part (see the various links) to identify the culprit, though the most common cause is your anti-virus scanner. Don't expect anybody to be able to provide you a ready answer.
