Thunderbird<->Google calendar: no Google Reminders.

I would like to read/write Google "Reminders" using the Thunderbird calendar, but "Reminders" is not available on the list of Google calendars (Network, Google Calendar).

Furthermore, I don't see a way to write characterize an event or task as a "Reminder." Will this be a Calendar/Lightning/Google Provider feature at any time?

Thanks,

Todd

Lightning v 6.2.2.1
Provider for Google Calendar v 4.4.2

I had to select calendars in events & tasks to see the calendar name (I normally use the tasks window instead). Double clicking on it let me edit the settings to enable or disable reminders. It was enabled by default on my system.

Or is a Google reminder something different from a reminder for a remote calendar using google calendar?

This post is a bit old, but I would like to refresh it. The Google reminders referred to are not the pop-up reminders that show up just before an event. They are more similar to events without invitees. Right now, I can create them using the Google web interface only, but they can't be created in Calendar and don't get transferred from Google to Calendar.
