This is a serious problem for me and only occurs since I upgraded to Windows 10 Home.
I compose this in SeaMonkey Composer -- Hello Mr Jack (with a blank line before and after the text) then <copy> the whole composition. I paste it into my SeaMonkey email message to be sent as HTML format. Here is what is appears to the recipient... ?? Hello Mr Jack, ?? Where do the question marks come from? And how can I prevent this from happening? [EDITED TO ADD] NOTE: This problem occurs in all Composer compositions. Last edited by Peter Creasey on April 28th, 2019, 3:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Dan, yes, I use an AOL affiliate. Note: I moved the composition to Composer in a Windows 7 system and the same thing happened. Thus, those characters are getting generated by SM Composer in Windows 10 (and it never happened in prior versions). [EDITED TO ADD] The same thing happens with gmail. . . . . . . . . . . Pete
Okay, further testing indicates the characters are being added by the W10 copy procedure.
I did a Windows <copy> of a SM Composer composition generated under W7 and did a <paste> directly into a W7 system and the same thing happened. This means the Windows <copy> somehow inserted the extra characters into the SM composition. Any ideas? Thanks! . . . . . . . . . . Pete

Dan, that looks promising.
I can't figure out what they mean when they say Configuration Editor. In which system are they talking about SM, ATT, Yahoo? It appears they are talking about Thunderbird Configuration Editor. If so, where do I go in SeaMonkey? Can you tell me how to get to where I need to be? Thanks. . . . . . . . . . . Pete
Dan, thank you. Your customary good responsiveness and assistance is much appreciated. . . . . . . . . . . Pete

...and for other people, what would they do if they had the same problem as you? At least link them to the thread, Peter - viewtopic.php?p=14830709#p14830709 As mentioned, for other people reading, the equivalent to Thunderbird's Configuration Editor is our about:config, which is always useful to know.
