SeaMonkey 2.49.5, Dell D420, Windows 7 Ultimate, Avg, Scotty is on Patrol and MalwarebytesPremium FWIW I updated to 2.49.4, (Win 7 pro 64bit) even in safe mode, navigating Google 'News' is sluggish at best and often freezes SM.
Anyone else seeing this? #KeepFightingMichael
https://news.google.com/?taa=1&hl=en-GB ... ceid=GB:en running poorly is not related to SeaMonkey update.
Pale Moon: google news
I misspoke, it's far worse then simply "running poorly", it simply sucks. (Wonder how SeaMonkey 2.53 does with it... ?) (Whatever the reason, wonder if it is not similar to various other websites where I complain to them that their website sucks?) Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.19) Gecko/20110420 SeaMonkey/2.0.14 Pinball CopyURL+ FetchTextURL FlashGot NoScript
Just look at the page source using Ctrl-U laugh and switch to a different news site. 2.53 seems to handle it but the left tree shows garbled text. Probably optimized to death for Chrome.
Edit unlocking cosmetic elements and fonts in uBlock seems to make it usable. Still a s*itty site. FRG ![]()
Nope. I'm on 2.49.3 and it's OK and loads OK. You do have to have fonts set to 'Allow websites/documents to use other fonts' though, otherwise the page will break badly - as in, really badly. Even when displaying correctly, it is a very dull webpage. Shirley, they can do better than that? Metal Lion latest SeaMonkey & Thunderbird Themes - Sea Monkey and Silver Sea Monkey

Yep. @Google news is a disaster, seldom visit there anymore but we were doing a little research into who's burying the Lusty Leslie story, of course Google is. The main problem is when clicking say LOCAL on the left, a blue L/R ''loading bar ?' appears across the top, AFAIR sometimes the 'bad script' warning comes up too, then the page usually goes 'misty' and freezes. Troubleshooting's likely a PITA, every time I've been there something's changed.. for the worse.. a moving target.....Ayhoo over the weekend I'll see if .3 is the same. #KeepFightingMichael

Unlike us smuggling in feature updates there are mostly only security changes in the Gecko engine. I doubt you will see any improvements or regressions here. .4 is just a minor security release. FRG In that case I won't bother; not as if i need that site. !
