Last night GoogleEarth worked fine. Today I found that the program has been removed from my computer and that GoogleEarth now requires - no, DEMANDS - that Chrome be installed. I was given no warning at all.

I don't understand how a company - any company - can come into my computer without my knowledge and delete anything they want.

Just downloaded and installed a new copy of Google Earth including reading the EULA. Runs fine with no demand for Chrome and no mention of Chrome in the EULA. So I would be doing a scan for malware/viruses if I were you

What version of Google Earth did you try to use?

The web version of Google Earth requires Chrome -

The standalone version does not -

&, Google Earth has been updated to the Pro version & there was no reference to having to use Chrome when I updated & installed the latest version.
At least it's still free.

It is the Google Earth web site that gives the message:

Aw snap! Google Earth isn't supported by your browser yet. Try this link in Chrome instead. If you don't have Chrome installed, download it here.

I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0 ID:20180714102053

Thank you all very much for your help.

Okay, I was able to install GE. Here's what I did:

1. Scratched my head.
2. Cursed the program, had a tantrum, kicked my dog, and then sent a post to this forum.
3. Stewed over it for a week.
4. Decided to hunt around the internet for clues.
5. About an hour into the hunt, came across "googleearthprowin-7.3.2-x64.exe". I had not seen this file before. so I downloaded it.
6. Ran the file and lo-and-behold, I had GE again!

Yes, initially I went to the GE website when I ran into trouble.

I still don't think much of a company coming into my computer and deleting a program without my knowledge.
