Whenever Mozilla releases a new episode of their podcast, I get a notification in my browser. I understand why they want to advertise it, but I never really listen to podcasts and it's taking up screen space that I want to use for bookmarks. Is there a way to turn these notifications off?

I was going to post a thread about this too.
I have absolutely no interest in mozilla's podcast, but even if I did, I'd still find this really annoying. It's especially obnoxious that there seems to be no obvious way to disable these built in adverts.

about:config then find browser.snippets.enabled and set it to false.
