> About reverse translation (5th suggestion), I was thinking about it inside the "bottom panel", where we write texts to be translated***. It's more relevant for writing in a foreign language than for reading translated texts. I'm sorry, but in version 5.01 (and in next versions) the main window for the translation - is floating. the bottom panel will remain, but it will not be the main window. Your suggestion: 2 - done 3 - done 5 - done 6 - done 1 - please wait 5.01 4 - please wait future versions.. > Other things: > "Request to Google Translate" shouldn't be displayed on instant translation when "busy, translating, wait please", this hides already translated parts. Maybe ellipsis after the text, like Google Translator does; in a floating window is exactly what works

Got it. I need to check "View source text" to enable editing in the floating window. Very good.

I like new flying window UI. but, as you can see, when flying window's position is bottom of FF window, bottom 'close' and 'global options' buttons of setting are hidden, so I can't click it. please fix it.

Hello and thanks for the addon! In the previous version I could choose the "from" language in the pop-up box. This has disappeared, unless I am doing something wrong... This is useful in forums where there are multiple languages used. you get the page translation from the basic language, but you might want some specific text translated from a different language. Thanks again!

First of all thank you for the best translation addon. However the addon is very heavy on memory in fact the preference.xul take 30 Mb and more after a while of use (memory leak?). I don't know if you can fix that but my suggestion is to make a LITE version for a simple use. The Lite version should not include: - Toolbar; - Learning mode; - Bottom panel.
Other suggestions / bug: - Remove the icons shadow; - The "translate selected text" shortcut Alt+Shift+T or others doesn't work; - Make a shortcut and an icon for open the bottom panel; - When the panel is open and you select a text automatically doesn't translate inside.
Thanks.

please wait new version or click button (in top-right) in flying-window "view source" press click to icon "flag" happysurf wrote:The Lite version should not include: - Toolbar; - Learning mode; - Bottom panel.

1. You can set your own styles for tooltip-buttons and the flying window 2. All shorcuts is disabled by default. Please open Settings-Actions-Hotkeys 3. I'm sorry, I did not understand. Please screenshot 4. Please in bottom panel click button "Instant translation of selected text"

1. I don't see any option for buttons shadow but only for the size; 2. Still doesn't work; 3. No way for open the bottom panel independently from translation for manually type or paste some text to translate; 4. Thank you, works fine.

Thank you for this addon. Sometime back I had tried every single translation related addon on AMO until I finally settled with this one. It fits my needs perfectly. I had a request: Can you make it so that the Google Translate panel does not make the web page content shift downwards, and is may be slightly transparent to let web page content show through? Kind of like this: . If not, would you happen to know some CSS code that can help achieve something similar? An alternative to above could be to show the panel only on mouse hover and hide it otherwise. The panel is not something that is needed very often, but it eats vertical space. Hence I feel either of the above could be good solutions. Thanks.

>> 1. You can set your own styles for tooltip-buttons and the flying window > 1. I don't see any option for buttons shadow but only for the size;
original css: - Code: Select all
.s3gt_translate_tooltip_mini { border: 1px solid #778899; padding: 0; border-radius: 5px; margin: 3px; box-shadow: 0 0 5px 2px rgba(122,122,122,0.7); width: 15px; height: 15px; -moz-user-select: none !important; display: inline-block; } .s3gt_translate_tooltip_mini:hover { box-shadow: 0 0 5px 2px rgba(167, 83, 200, 0.9); }
for disabling shadow: 1. create new text-file 2. paste in file: - Code: Select all
.s3gt_translate_tooltip_mini { box-shadow: none; } .s3gt_translate_tooltip_mini:hover { box-shadow: none; }
3. save file 4. open flying-window, click button "settings", choise "Theme-Custom file" 5. select your file 6. done! shadow is disabled. Kind of like this: Image. If not, would you happen to know some CSS code that can help achieve something similar?
you can turn off this panel open settings - tab Other - "Hide «google-panel» from translated page"

Thanks for your reply. I know I can turn it off, but the whole point was to keep it accessible without having it take up much space. If I turn it off, then say, if I want the original page back, or change the language, or need the panel for some other reason, I am going to have to re-enable it and everything and that would be tedious. Can some CSS magic help achieve something similar? I could reduce the opacity of the panel (using CSS) but couldn't get it to float / not shift the web page downwards.

if you use Stylish - create new style: - Code: Select all
.goog-te-banner-frame { opacity: 0.5; }
value for opacity = 1 ... 0.01
