On Windows 10, a fresh install of Firefox 67+ creates two profile folders under Profiles. One is my profile files and the other is empty. I am sure there is a reason and curious to know what it is.

Also, why is a profile name includes an UUID? How many profiles can there be in Firefox? What is the limit?

why is a profile name includes an UUID?

It doesn't have to.
Mine are called (both in name & also on disk); FF58, FF59, FF61, PROFILE67, {derogatorywords}mozilla.

How many profiles can there be

I'd think essentially unlimited.

What is the limit?

One less then some number that happens to cause some "overflow" in some register that then breaks things ;-).
