why remove javascript cookie?

the options to diable javascript to modify cookies is removed . at 31st Oct,
I just wonder why ...

Damn good question. I never noticed. Of course you can set it via user.js. Perhaps it was broken? Or maybe it just follows the regular cookie behavior.

Because some banks don't work with this option disabled and the error reported is not clear it's due to that.
I think that our target users won't get the subtlety of http/js cookies and that the way how cookies are set is not so important. But feel free to argument.

I filed http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143810 to remove the script-cookie options from Mozilla. When I filed it, I said:

"We already have options for disabling cookies and for disabling scripts, and there isn't anything special or evil about the combination of cookies and scripts. Also, unlike most of the options in the Scripts & Windows panel, the script-cookie prefs only make sense to someone very familiar with the Web."
