And even with that, https://www.google.com/webhp (alone) looks (basically) "correct". But when you add the other stuff in there: "?hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi6jdqS8ZndAhVHs1kKHYCuBpQQPAgD", then you get the funky cursor positioning. So whatever link you're following to get to your (google) URL, or whatever whatever may be manipulating the "kind" of google URL you end up with... Presumably without the /webhp... you'd be "right"? Google search field and cursor do not line up. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.19) Gecko/20110420 SeaMonkey/2.0.14 Pinball CopyURL+ FetchTextURL FlashGot NoScript
Okay. But still, It bothers me. I think I inadvertently clicked on something by mistake and caused this to happen but I can't remember the sequence. To completely eliminate the problem must I remove SeaMonkey completely and re-install the latest version of it and start over from the get go?
If you open, https://www.google.com/, what does the URL bar show? Is the cursor correct?
If you open, https://www.google.com/webhp, what does the URL bar show? Is the cursor correct? If they rollover to something else, something like the long line you posted, then something is causing that. Might be a cookie or extension or particular link or bookmark or browser search engine or ... ? As mentioned in linked thread, try clearing google cookies? Okay, there is no difference at either of the two suggested URL addresses, but now I will go ahead and delete the cookies from the Google URL.
