When I watch newsgroups I label some of them as important, but only the first message in that thread get the color, not the post that belong to this thread.

In outlook express you can see this behaviour.

Any bug filed on this?

I think the reason is that the label function will always assign the label to the currently
selected messages, and when you select a collapsed thread, you really select only the top
message.
To select the whole thread, press ctrl-shift-A or use Edit->select->trhead and then use the
label function to label all selected messages.

But shouldn't this be done automatically?
If new messages arrive in the thread they will not be labeled.
I think I will file a bug on this..

I dont think that should be done automatically. Labelling and other filter actions are
done for individual emails, not threads.

It might be interesting to allow some actions to be done for the whole thread too, though,
but this should not be the default.
