Sorry to put such dumb question, but what do you mean by "Clean Uninstall"?
Since it's in capitals it's obviously an addon.

Hello!
Yesterday I realized that S4E stopped showing any sort of status information. Nothing in particular changed in my profile I'm still on the same browser version.
Recently, a week or two ago I disabled showing the url because I installed an addon that shows it as a tooltip. However the status text was showing up properly at that time.
Any ideas? (Disabling enabling the addon didni't help)

Coudn't get it back since then. But ultimately it doesn't seem to be missing for me and since I got links to be shown in a tooltip S4E doesn't serve much purpose. (until I decide I want urls to be shown somewhere else) So it looks like it's time to let go S4E

yes avada it is time to say goodbye to S4E since Firefox 60 recently came out as normal and ESR versions. I'm now using FF 60 ESR and the creator of S4E has not found either the time or the energy to make a webextension version of it

Works fine in Waterfox, but if you see status messages in full-screen HTML5 video, disable the "Detect full-screen mode..." option in Advanced.

According to this Reddit post, the Waterfox Developer will in the future follow ESR builds and allow extensions on those. Will you pretty please support Status-4-Evar for Waterfox in the future? It seems that some other extension developers are continuing support for Waterfox, so I'd be really happy to be able to keep it as my default browser.

I suggest you turn to Pale Moon. Unfortunately, Waterfox seems to follow Mozilla's direction, which killed firefox, making it like all others. Pale Moon is the only variation of firefox which maintains all features of the old good firefox, it's lightweight and fast. Among others, it supports "legacy" extensions and they have a dedicated add-on site and a good and very active community for discus and support. About S4E, it is embedded to Pale Moon, so there is no need to install it separately as an extension. Just give it a chance! You haven't something to lose.

Thank you, I will have to try. But what a mess, it's always like this, you have everything working as you like and then an update comes and messes it all up. In Firefox and lately in Waterfox...

I can feel you far better than what you think, as i was a loyal user of firefox since its born, v0.8. After all these years, a huge disappointment... As you can see in their place, Pale Moon's devs say they will not change their path. We'll see..
