after having zipped the xpi file in a 7z file.

7z isn't blocked/scanned by google, since those inbreds block every "application"

first rutube should stop with proactive blocking.
try http://rutube.ru/video/2544d846d5cc0675 ... fe5fa4ed5/ and you'll get the thumbnail too... (don't know why your link doesn't show it)
scond: FS doesn't hunt for the thumbnails it just force the player to act as if its params were set not to autoplay, but since the site didn't intend this to be the case there's no thumbnail available... (baynews9 is flowplayer see http://dogwaymedia.com/2014/07/29/info- ... ramp-2014/ for flowplayer where thumbnail is present, stupidvideos&rediff are jwplayer see http://en.musicplayon.com/play?v=343121)

as i said before FS will never stop everything (i'm trying to keep the handlers as generic as possible), you should use something like 'Click to Play per-element' with a blacklist as a complement...

I don't have any addon like that one installed. When I disable FlashStopper the video quality goes back to "auto".

you are correct, FS is responsible for that behavior (for flash & html5).
i've added this because youtube "is cheaping out" on bandwidth and always pick low quality by default, although i can appreciate it's not for everybody's liking...

to remedy this you'll need to take this actions:
open about:config and set extensions.flashstopper.scripteditmenu to true
you'll get new menu item (on FS button) named 'Edit script', click it.
flash: in the handler script find the line with 'youtube video quality' in the general handler section and remove it.
html5: find a the line 'ytplayer.setPlaybackQuality("hd720")' in YouTube html5 section and remove it.

if you run into any trouble let me know...
