I do not have Play Store, and Firefox is not listed in F-Droid.
Until 68.11.0 I could download the APK directly from Mozilla and update manually. Where can I get the APK for the new version?
All links provided in previous answers either do not explain where to get the APK, do not contain the new version or still point to the 68 version:

See:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/a ... id-release (only points to the play store or "other marketplaces")
https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/ (only lists versions until 68)
https://download.mozilla.org/?product=f ... lang=multi (still points to version 68)

Just wanted to say I have exactly the same question. I had been using

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/

which, like the second link provided by the OP, only goes up to version 68.9.0, which isn't even the latest 68.* version.

You sure about that ;)

These are listed there in your link also.
68.10.0
68.10.1
68.11.0

Also Mozilla prefers you use archive.mozilla.org instead so https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/68.11.0/

Thank you James. I see now my problem with 68.* is that the 68.1* versions appear in the directory listing much earlier than 68.9 ... due to the numerical sorting of the entries ... and so I'd missed seeing them. *DUH* on my part.

I should also update to the HTTPS link you gave.

The question remains though, what about later versions, 7x.xx.x ... Are they not going to be available at that location any longer?

I found a tool called FFUpdater in F-Droid, which does the trick.

Not to say I am exactly thrilled with the new version, but this is for other threads...

Thank you for this tip.

I didn't install FFUpdater, but on its page at F-Droid there's quite a bit of information. One thing it mentions (peripherally) is a site called apkmirror.com . They provide APK downloads which they claim are identical to what mozilla provides. As a quick check I got 68.11.0 from them, and compared (using diff -r) the contents of the archive with the one available on mozilla. They were indeed identical.

For newer versions it would be nice to have a DIY method for independent verification. I've been investigating this today and it's starting to look like a can of worms. Not sure how far I'll get, but if something comes of it I'll post here. Maybe someone more familiar with these kind of 3rd-party sites has already solved this problem?
