I'm migrating to OpenTasks from another Tasks/ToDo app called aCalendar Tasks which would sync with Google. I need to change because only the local Tasks app on my smartphone supports time-based due dates [0]. Time fields don't map to Google Tasks, & as such I'm unable to sync the time field to Thunderbird/Lightning on my computer.

I've installed the DAVDroid app which works with my FastMail account's CalDAV/CardDAV sync, & it specified that I use OpenTasks to be able to sync Tasks/ToDos.

On Android each task will notify upon start time & due time. However on Thunderbird/Lightning there's no reminder at all. I have to manually edit each & set the Reminder field to 0 minutes [1] which then enables a 'start' time reminder- still not at 'due', which is tolerable.

The following are fields DAVDroid syncs between the OpenTasks app, & the Tasks section of Thunderbird/Lightning:

UID
SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION
LOCATION
GEO
URL
ORGANIZER
PRIORITY
COMPLETED, PERCENT-COMPLETE
STATUS
CREATED, LAST-MODIFIED
DTSTART, DUE, DURATION
RDATE, EXDATE, RRULE

Since there's no explicitly defined 'Reminder' field here, is there a way to make Lightning apply reminders based on any of these fields?

Thanks in advance.

Switched to using aCalendar Tasks (Just disabled Notifications in OpenTasks) & now this is no longer an issue.

Return to Calendar
