Is there a way to view three, six or twelve months?

No.

It's difficult to imagine how views like that would give much useful information. Other work would have to be done so that you could show the overall time frame of a whole set of events, with milestones and deadlines. Oops, that's a project-management tool, not a calendar. Perhaps we need a Mozilla Project Management project to do this kind of thing in a separate application with links to Calendar.

Well, Palm Desktop has a day, week, month and year view. They just put a dot in the box if there's something associated with a day in the year. It's also pretty useful if you just want to find what day of the week a holiday or other regular family even falls on.

And it's useful if you want to scroll through quickly to set an appointment. You can scroll through years pretty quickly. One example would be to set an alarm to replace your water heater or something else that has a useful life of 5, 10 or 15 years.

Yahoo Calendar has day, week, month, year, task list and event list. The calendar display just displays a 12-month calender from January to December. Hyperlinks go to a week display to show events.
