i am using mozilla calendar extension 0.83+ for thunderbird

when i export my events to an .ics file, the times are all shifted
is there a workaround for this or an updated version of calendar that fixes this problem?

thanks

Perhaps you have the oddly named "Store dates in Universal Time" preference checked. This makes Calendar attempt to use UT when it stoes dates and times in the .ics file. Is that what you mean by "shifted"?

If that is not what you mean, please give an actual example.

i don't have the store dates in universal time preference checked

an example would be when i make an event in calendar "meet bob" and the time is from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM
it will show up fine in calendar

when i select the event and export it to an .ics file, the times shift to 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM

i don't know why it exports the times wrong but this happens to every event i export

I tried it myself. On export it attempts to use Universal Time whether that option is checked or not. For example, in the file I see:
Code: Select all
DTSTART
 :20050302T163000Z

The letter Z at the end means Universal Time.

I think this is probably a bug. All the time zone handling is a mess in current versions, so perhaps this will be fixed when time zones are supported properly in the future.
