why this strange behavior?

It looks like its jumping to the most recent message, but in a jerky fashion.

If you change the sort order so the most recent message is at the top... ?

(Heh. I say that as I look at my Eudora & see that the most recent messages for me are at the bottom.)

Yes!
In Thunderbird remains stationary in the last page

If you change the sort order so the most recent message is at the top... ?

Maybe dig around the Thunderbird forums & see if anyone has reported similar?

("In arrivio" sounds so much more, sophisticated, at least from this side of the ocean, compared to "In box" ;-).)
