I just tried SM 2.0 for the first time. Baby steps.
I installed it on an outboard drive and it asked to import everything without specifying which of 2 possible profiles to choose. It chose the right one and everything seems to have come through, except maybe some preferences, since too many toolbars are showing at the top of the window. Minor. What is NOT minor, though, is this: Sending of message failed. An error occurred sending mail: Unable to authenticate to SMTP server mail.(xxx).(xxx). It does not support authentication (SMTP-AUTH) but you have chosen to use authentication. Uncheck 'Use name and password' for that server or contact your service provider. Well, I looked and the box was not checked. Big surprise that this should happen. So there is nothing to do but to go back to 1.1.18. When I tried to open1.1.18, it was hijacked to the 2.0 and I had to re-set 1.1.8 as the default program even though I told 2.0 not to become the default. Just a few rude behaviors and maybe not application killers, but certainly reason not to use the program yet...

The "authentication check" issue is in your "outgoing server" at the bottom of the account settings pane

from the mail application, click on Edit, Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings, then on the left scroll down until you see Outgoing Server (SMTP). Select your smtp server on the right, click on Edit, then uncheck authentication.

It worked! Thank you. I hadn't gone to the Edit function and found the box to uncheck.
Now I can go back and play around and see what mischief I can get into. There is another profile on this computer that I would have to add if this one proves to work properly. I can re-read some of the other problems and solutions that people have been posting to figure that one out. I found it curious that it asked whether I wanted to import without asking from which profile. Fortunately, it chose the one I use rather than the other one available...

Now I have to find my extensions.
I had the PrefBar with my Minimum Font and other settings that is now gone. I also don't seem to have my Open Tab in Internet Explorer in the ToolBar anymore. Maybe I won't need it so much, if videos will play from this browser more satisfactorily than they did from the 1.1.18. http://player.play.it/player/player.htm ... at=kptk-am This one used to work just fine in 1.1.x, but became intermittent somewhere around 1.1.18. I have it on now and it seems rock-solid...

If I go to another user's Desktop and open the 2.0 from there, will it recognize
a different user and run the Wizard for migrating again? Otherwise, I don't have a clue as to how to get more than the first Profile moved. I hate to mess someone else's program up...

It was as simple as that.
I went to the other User and started Seamonkey and the Wizard set it all up flawlessly. The only remaining problem on that User's page is loss of an icon for Mail. I can't fine it in the new program and can't discover a path to reconfigure the icon on the old one. I've left instructions to use the icon at the bottom of the browser for now...

OK, I got my pref-bar back, though not quite edited the way I want it yet.
I tried the Coralietab download and got an unfamiliar AdOn box that doesn't seem to operate properly. If I highlight something and say install, it opens a file and asks which thing in the file I want to install. It's not the file that has the download in it. Also, where do I re-download FlashGot? Thanks for the help...

Nevermind. I got it from the MoxDev page.
Now I can run the program through some hoops and see how it works for the first time. Already, I see that it loads and opens much faster than the older program. I don't mind the change in icons. Chance is good sometimes...

To get a "mail" icon, just take a regular seamonkey shortcut, and in the properties put -mail behind it as follows.
"C:\Program Files\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe" -mail and pick a different icon for it if you like.

I tried that, but it wouldn't recognize it.
I could be that it won't look on the MyBook outboard drive, where I installed 2.0. I had hoped that the program would migrate all the profile data to there as well, but it duplicated it on the C drive, thus defeating my purpose of saving drive space. So maybe I should move the program to the C drive? What sort of trouble will that bring? Also, I notice that the other User/Profile has messages beginning UNDER the quoted message instead of at the top, like everyone I know prefers (not the default, I know!). I can't seem to find how to change that to ABOVE in the new 2.0 Preferences...?...

Does the latest Prefbar lack a Minimum Font On/Off toggle?
I only find a + and a - for Font...questions, questions...

Coral-IE doesn't show up anywhere in my ToolBar or in PrefBar menu.
The PrefBar + and - for Fonts seems to enlarge the entire page, images and all. Is there no longer the option of changing only the font size? I found the Preference to begin replies above the quote, thanks...

coral IE Tab has nothing to do with the prefbar. Two different things. If you want the IE Tab, then look at the very bottom right of the browser, and you'll see a firefox icon.
