This is a problem that started with the new TB 60.3.1 (32-bit)
Since the upgrade from the former version, an extra string is added to the HTML-code, when you edit a mail
If you use Ctrl+A to select the whole body and then go to Insert > HTML...
...and then you may make a small change, like correct a spelling error.
Then you insert the HTML back into the body of the email and save.
Open it again and look at the HTML-code.
...you will then notice, that this: &#xA
...has been added to the codes. Every time you edit HTML and save the draft, more strings get added.
It could for instance look like this:
<table style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Verdana,

Arial,

Helvetica; box-shadow: #999999 0px 0px 10px 0px;

>

This did not happen before TB 60. It's a huge problem, if you make several changes, as you always do, if you write a newsletter.

Moved from Thunderbird Bugs to Thunderbird Support. Thunderbird Bugs is sort of a backwater, and is really meant just for discussing what to do about known bugs (that have been documented via Bugzilla).

I can't duplicate that problem using 60.3.1 when I change the font size, create a bulleted list, and indent text. Does it only occur if you add a table?

Hi - it's been discussed at length since I wrote about it on bugzilla.mozilla.org: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1509102
It turns out, that a linefeed at the end af a tag, that's devided over two or more lines, gets converted to the & # X a ; code (multiple times), when editing an email.
They've found the error, but not yet decided how to best handle it.
