Hello,

TB 52.7.0 cannot send emails after installing Enigmail. It cannot save drafts either.
Linux Mint 18.3.

Thank you in advance!

Are you using version 2.0.3 of Enigmail from the authors web site with a Mozilla build of Thunderbird? Or are you using a enigmail package from a Linux Mint repository with a version of Thunderbird provided by Linux Mint ?

What error message do you get?
Are you able to send messages that are not encrypted or digitally signed?

You can get help for either here, but its harder to help somebody with a distro specific configuration.

Yes, v. 2.0.3 (20180508-0530) form TB extension search.

I get no error - I simply cannot send emails neither encrypted nor digitally signed; I have not tried this, just ordinary email.

I didn't spot a recent related problem at https://sourceforge.net/p/enigmail/forum/support/ . I suggest you start by verifying Enigmail really is the culprit by disabling the add-on , restarting Thunderbird and seeing what problems you have. I'm most bothered by the inability to save a draft as that seems to have the least requirements on Enigmail working correctly.

When I uninstall Enigmail, TB can send email. I can't give a log as there is none.

I installed the Enigmail 2.0.3 add-on, used the wizard to install GnuPG etc using default settings, created a revocation certificate, exited, restarted and sent a message with no problem using Thunderbird 52.7.0 using Windows 10. I did not encrypt or sign it. I used webmail to read the sent message.

I suggest you delete the saved password for the account, exit, restart (because the deleted password is still in memory) and try to send a message. See if you are prompted for a password. That will help identify how far you get in sending. Check the checkbox to save the password if you get the prompt to enter it.

No luck. The new window with the Send mail simply sits on the screen and nothing happens.

I found https://sourceforge.net/p/enigmail/bugs/827/ , where a similar problem occurred using a nightly build. That was supposedly fixed in Enigmail 2.1.

I suggest you follow the instructions in https://www.enigmail.net/index.php/en/s ... ng-defects and file a Enigmail bug report. Please include a debug log file that you can create per https://www.enigmail.net/index.php/en/f ... #faqLink_6 and mention what operating system you are using. The more details you provide about your configuration the better chance he has at reproducing the problem.
