This fix has generated 3 inboxes for the same email address: do they consume 3 times the space? I'm afraid to delete 1 for fear they'll all go.

Editing the SMTP server settings coould not result in the appearance of new inboxes so I can't imagine what it was you changed that led to that result. As I don't understand that I can't offer any suggestions about whether you can safely delete anything in that profile.

sir, in fixing the above, now I observe now the sending process has gone wrong: I don't know how to correct it: nowhere to put things like delivery reply or call in the Quicktext. (Side Question sir: is there any way A identification could be sent to my cellphone? The reason is that I'm handicapped & in the den & have to walk with a walker to get to the computer) Finally, it asks if I want to send the message with the chosen identity which never popped up before; all I did was Ctrl-Enter to send. ](*,) ]

(Side Question sir: is there any way A identification could be sent to my cellphone?

Not sure what type of cellphone you have but if it is a smart phone, you could set up the same email account on that as you use for this forum user ID. That would let you see the reply notices on your phone but deal with the notices on your computer. (The forum software doesn't provide a field for a phone number so there is no functionality to send text messages regarding replies.)

As to the sending issue, it's quite difficult to picture what settings you have that would cause Thunderbird to question the "chosen identify". Perhaps you could send a screen shot of the account settings for the one that is generating that question, as well as another of your SMTP server settings. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Posting_a_scr ... _the_forum

nowhere to put things like delivery reply or call in the Quicktext.

I'm not sure what that means. What do you mean by "delivery reply" and then Quicktext is an extension that adds some functionality to TB but I have no idea how you are using it.

Thank you sir, I did that :D

Sir, I just tried them 3 times as I said, but they still don't work. The main thing is sending a message & the standard option seem removed when sending are: return receipt requested & access to Quicktext & having to confirm sending: never had to do that before! So Options of normal sending have been reduced! ](*,)

So Options of normal sending have been reduced

No, Sending options have not been reduced.
Return receipts are still available under menu path Tools->Options in the compose window.
And, again, QuickText is not a built in component of Thunderbird but an add-oon (extension). Have you confirmed that you have the latest version of that extension? And, again, "I have no idea how you are using it" so I can't say if what you are trying to do should be working or not.

@ Walkerpbus...

Try the following...

After you've taken the screen shot/s...
Reduce it/them to around 600 x 500 or so in your favourite image editor, (Be sure to remove any personal info.)
& upload them to your favourite image hosting site.
> http://tinypic.com/ (If you use TinyPic, select "Message Board" from the "Resize" drop down.)

&...Select the code listed as "Forum Thumbnail", copy the code and paste it in
the thread where you reported your problem.

Easy peasy.

But that doesn't mean that sending options have been reduced. It just means that some change you made in the settings is requiring that check before sending. When we see the screen shots and can get an understanding of what settings are now selected, we may be able to tell what to change to eliminate that confirmation step.

As for QuickText, you still haven't told us what has now changed from your prior interaction with it, or how you use it in your routine email activities.

Sir, I can't make the screen shots: tried even using Paint. Chief problems: can't add return receipt requested (didn't see any), No ability to access Quicktext (didn't see any) as far as I know, & "doubting" my key config Ctrl-Enter asking me to confirm the send. There may be more: these are just the most apparent
