Hi, I am in the process of migrating from Outlook 2007 to Thunderbird 52.6.0
I use a desktop with Win10 pro, and an Epson Workforce 2630 printer.
I have a printer problem when I print an email with multiple pages.
It also shows this problem in print preview.
No problems with one or two page emails
I still have Outlook 2007 running and the complete email prints without problem.
Example - the email is 5 pages long it shows correctly when viewing the email, but it only prints one page with email To/From/Subject/Date info, a blank page, first page correctly, another blank page, second page correctly. If I reduce the print scale to 80% it will only print the first two of 4/5 pages correctly.
Any help would be appreciated!

Since you are using Windows 10 I suggest you print to a PDF (there should be a printer queue for that) rather than the actual printer, and see if that has the same problem. If it doesn't you could then print the PDF as a workaround.

Does this problem occur with any email with multiple pages or is it limited to just HTML mail or ones with embedded images?

Is Outlook using the same printer queue as Thunderbird?

You might try resetting (right click on them and select reset in the context menu) all of the modified printer settings (they'll be in bold and mention the printer name) using the config editor in Thunderbird, exit and restart.

Many thanks for your prompt reply.
I tried printing as "Microsoft Print to PDF" with the same problem result!
Most of my emails are only one or two pages (some plain text and some HTML) and so far the problem appears to be limited to multiple page HTML (embeded images) printing.
I looked at the printer status by clicking on the printer in "Devices and Printers" and both Thunderbird and Outlook 2007 appeared there for printing. The only difference being the print size, Thunderbird 2.20Mb and Outlook 2007 2.75Mb.
I also tried resetting printer setting in the Config Editor, again with the same problem results. Also, the printer setting are no longer bold and do not have the printer name. Is this normal?

I have been searching around the web and I wonder if this is anything associated with bug 1353625? Is it easy to install an earlier version without the migration from Outlook 2007?

Again any help would be appreciated!

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1353625 claims the blank pages bug is fixed in 52.2. I can't reproduce this problem. Perhaps the bug fix works for most users, but doesn't for a few configurations. Unfortunately, that sometimes occurs with bug fixes. I suggest you install the beta in a different directory using custom setup, and see if it has the same problem. It will use the existing profile (both versions will share the same data). https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ . If you uninstall a version don't check the checkbox to delete your data!

Or you could use version 45.8.0 as a interim workaround. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Go_back_to_an ... hunderbird

Did you notice comment 23?
"Whilst checking the values of print_paper_height and print_paper_width in our Firefox (already -1), I thought to check the printer setup that Thunderbird was using. Thunderbird with the upgrade to 52 had changed our printer's default page size from A4 to Letter. When I changed this default back to the correct A4, print preview and print worked correctly."

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_.pst_files if you are still trying to migrate your data from Outlook. Supposedly the problem importing .pst files is fixed in version 58. That is not released yet. You could install the latest beta (59.b2) from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/ ... 59.0b2.exe or https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ using a custom setup to specify a different installation directory. Import your mail, exit, and verify the imported mail is accessible using 52.6 It should be using the same profile. If everything is okay exit, and uninstall the beta (don't check the checkbox to delete your data!).

Another solution would be to install version 17.0.9 from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/ ... n32/en-US/ instead (using a custom setup to specify a different directory......).

Shouldn't make a difference.

Many thanks for all the information provided!
I will try them out over the weekend and let you know the outcome.
I previously advised that I reset printer setting in the Config Editor, and now the printer setting are no longer bold and do not have the printer name. Is this normal?

Yes. Those are the default printer settings before it knows about "your" printer.

Many thanks tanstaaf for your suggestions. I tried most of them and none worked.
The only one I could not try was "print_paper_height and print_paper_width in our Firefox (already -1)", I could not see this parameter for my printer in Config.
I do not have Firefox installed - could that be a problem?
Any way, I have now given up with this problem - my work around is to save the file as .html, open it and print in MS word.
You win some and lose some!

You don't need Firefox installed to print from Thunderbird.

I don't have a print_paper_height or print_paper_width but do have a print.printer_Brother_HL-L2320D_series.print_paper_height and print.printer_Brother_HL-L2320D_series.print_paper_width that were created automatically the first time I told it to use the Brother printer.
