Occasionally I visit some webpages which ask me by popup to remove the adblocker.
Since I have no AdBlocker WebExtension installed it must be the "Enhanced Tracking Protection".
So I click on the tiny shield icon left of the URL entry field at the top of Firefox and de-select
"Enhanced Tracking Protection"

I go now to Options-->Privacy & security---->Enhanced Tracking Protection ("Standard" is enabled)
and click on the button Manage Exceptions

I expected that the just visited domain is listed there.
BUT no domain is listed there. The textbox is empty (and greyed out/disabled)

Why?

How do I find out otherwise for which domains the "Enhanced Tracking Protection" is currently set to OFF?

What Firefox version are you using ?

Are you using "Resist Fingerprinting" as that might affect some settings ?

So ok, here is an example (from a german news magazine):

https://www.focus.de/auto/news/neue-ver ... 14850.html

Have a look at the following snapshot.
After de-activation tracking protection (see red arrow) the URL/domain is NOT listed as expected.

Why

Furthermore I wonder how I could manually add some entries in the "Manage Exception" textbox.
I see no "Add" button

You can only add an exception when you disable Tracking Protection for a specific website via the drop-down list of the ETP shield.
Your screenshot shows that Tracking Protection is enabled (blue).
You need to move the slider to the left position to disable ETP for the website and then www.focus.de should be added to the exception list.

Thats exactly what I did. The ETO=On in the screenshot is just to show the situation BEFORE I moved the slider to the left.
And yes, after I dragged the slider to the left it works BUT only for this Firefox session.
If I exit and restart Firefox later the ETP is automatically reset to ON.

So again: How do I PERMANANTELY set Tracking Protection to OFF?

Furthermore If I drag the slider to the left to OFF and open Options--->Privacy & Security--->Manage Exceptions

the given Website is NOT added to the list.

Why?

Did you check the full exceptions list, because the new entry isn't added at the bottom (list is alphabetic) ?

Firefox should remember this choice unless you remove the Site Preferences.
