I am running Linux Mint 18.3, Sylvia, Xfce desktop. On a Dell Laptop.
About a week ago I installed an Update from Firefox, and now when I open more than three tabs the browser crashes. What is the deal with this? This crashing has not happened before, the last update.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Firefox will not open, at all. I tried to send the "Details" in the comment box, but it wouldn't paste. Went to your developer link, and got a lot instructions to do a lot of things. As a Linux user I am aware that to do some things one has to jump through a lot of hoops, and I am not going to do that for a browser, that for the last two years has been trying to remake itself to work on smartphones. I am currently using Vivaldi. While Firefox is still my default, I can change that if I need to, I prefer Firefox though.

Try another user account on the same machine. At least you will know if it’s something with your profile or backup your profile, remove it and see what happens.
