I tried to install Mozilla 1.2.1
But I got this error message: Error occured during installation - Mozilla XPCOM: -204_NO_INSTALL_SCRIPT. Any comments??? What can I do to avoid this message? Thanx in advance Helimees While I cannot answer your question, providing information such as the Operating System you use might help others help you.

This sounds odd, almost like the installation file is damaged / corrupt. Did you download the full installer from Mozilla.org? If so, is this a clean install (no previous version of Mozilla / Netscape 6,7 on your system) or are you trying to install Mozilla over an existing installation.
If this is a clean install, the easiest way should be re-downloading the installer. Gunnar http://mozilla.gunnars.net - The Mozilla Help Site
I was in a similar problem, when upgrade from 1.2 to 1.2.1. May be this can help you too, I uninstall completly, and after that, delete folder Mozilla in the "windows folder"\Application Data. Just one think before to delete this folder, in there is the bookmarks.html (under profile... etc) so if you don´t want to loose it, copy that file to other place to keep it safe. I'm using Win98 so this may don't apply in your case.
No previous versions of mozilla
No netscape Downloaded the installer 2 times Same thing... thanks anyway
Delete XUL.mfsl in your profile, it will be restored automatically at next start of mozilla. Maybe, that´s a workaround. I think, I´ve read a bug about this hang in install routine today, but I didn´t note the number. herman
Is anyone here who can decipher what Mozilla XPCOM: -204_NO_INSTALL_SCRIPT actually means? Does "-204" refer to line 204 in the code or is 204 an error code itself. Helimees: Did you select "Custom Install" or "Standard"? One thing that came to mind is that you might have de-selected one Mozilla component that another expected / depends on? It's probably unlikely that this is the problem, but I can't think of anything else right now. http://mozilla.gunnars.net - The Mozilla Help Site
Sorry, the name of the file is XUL.mfl, and it´s located in your profile directory. You can find the profiles location in the release notes. Is this your first mozilla installation? Or do you have Netscape 6 or netscape 7 browsers installed on your system? If so, you should disable quickstart, maybe. herman who would like to get some info how to install netscape AND mozilla on the same system. When I was giving Windows XP a try on my laptop, I never managed to install Mozilla on it, I only got errormessages during the installation. I have since moved backto Windows 2000 and had no problems with installing Mozilla on it.
