I think the splash screen looks horrible. It was the same when I first used Mozilla in March 2000.
Come on, when will there be a new one? i like it

When will there be a good looking splash screen.
My number one complaint with the splash screen is the drangon and how angry and violent it is drawn. I wish Mozilla had a kinder, gentler splash screen mascott. My view of Mozilla is not compatible with this splash screen mascot. I don't view mozilla as a "Rambo" style browser out to obliterate anyother browser in its way. Rather I view Mozilla as peacefully co-existing with other browsers leading the way with the support of stamdards. Mozilla is not the "flame thrower rambo" out to destroy all browsers but itsself. Mozilla is the browser to show the way to a peaceful co-existance of all browsers on the internet, not destroying each other, but supporting one another. Why, oh why can we not have a splash screen that reflects this peaceful co-existence brought about on the internet through Mozilla's support of W3C standards? Oh and if we are fortunate to get a new splash screen, please can we not have the dominate colour be red! My only objection to red is thatit is not very pretty when used for a splash screen. Find my favorite here...

These are cool! Not violent either... I even exited Mozilla and restarted just to see it start with this one ![]() ![]() Oh yes, do give that page of yours a title... I virtually never see a splash screen - the Windows boxes I use have Quick Launch enabled, and I'm hardly going to use --splash on the Linux boxes
![]() There´s plenty of cool splashes at Bugzilla 32218 (Mozilla needs an updated splash screen) and at Deviant Art Mozilla Splashes section.
I simply don´t understand why doesn´t the Mozilla Development Team change the default splash pic when there already exists such wide variety of much more professional and attractive looking splashes freely available. If they´re worried about copyright issues about the Mozilla dinosaur (are they?), why don´t they use this original work? It´s quite cool (the dragon, that is, the rest of the splash needs some work, in my opinion); and besides, any splash image would be better than the horribly ugly current one. (By the way, my personal favorite is this one.) Last edited by deuce on November 22nd, 2002, 12:16 pm, edited 2 times in total.
I think the current splash screen is fine as it is. It is the only one which gives me the "mozilla feeling". I don't think it has to look "professional" or something like that.
Sorry to n00b out, but how can I change my splash screen? Some of the ones posted here are great. Not that the splash screen now bothers me, it's just that change is gooder...
