Obviously Beta 46 slipped by us. The next release on the Beta Channel will be tb 45.1

No 49.0a1 or 48.0a2 for Linux. Any ETA for those?

Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5

Just to be clear - we intentionally skipped beta 46.

And, beta 45.1 is available https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all-beta.html

In the wake of 38.1, there was no 39 beta either. Thus, it's not entirely unexpected that the 46 beta was skipped as well.

Linux build: I have been unable to do local build since May 4th. I get lots of errors like this:

mozalloc.h:184:33: error: ‘bad_alloc’ in namespace ‘std’ does not name a type
0:17.16 void* operator new(size_t size) MOZALLOC_THROW_BAD_ALLOC

Latest mercurial pull of comm central.

Any suggestions or anyone know of upcoming fixes? Have been building this daily with no issues since the official comm central builds died off.

thx.

This has been around in trunk and aurora builds for a few weeks already, but as a heads-up in case you haven't run into this yet: Applications are supposed to clean out any temporary files they've created when they are exiting, and there is a specific location (%TEMP% in Windows, usually C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp; /tmp on Linux). Thunderbird is a bit too thorough and deletes all files in the temp location on exiting, as long as it has operating-system permission to do so.

  • Bug 1269878 - Thunderbird tries to delete user's temp directory upon exit
That's a nice recipe for problems if you run another application in parallel, the Thunderbird destroys its valuable data on the fly.

Actually, Linux doesn't show that issue as "The affected code is not compiled into linux builds." [:aklotz]

The core fix for this issue is coming up with bug 1270018.

The next beta will be 45.2b1 rather than 47b1 (comm-beta is still pulling from the TB-45 release branch).

Patch checked in and should become effective with tomorrow's nightly.
