Since the move to mozilla/toolkit I do not get any mail folders in my GTK2 builds of Thunderbird. I have applied the patch in bug 206692 but still it looks like this:

I haven't tried a gtk1.2 builds so I don't know if that works, but a GTK2 build worked like a charm before the new toolkit landing.

Hey your spoiling my suprise by showing a screen shot with some new toolbar icons for the 3-pane. Was hoping to suprise folks with a build on Monday =).

Any JS errors in the console?

Yep:
Error: redeclaration of const MSG_FOLDER_FLAG_TRASH
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/commandglue.js
Line: 1

Error: folderUnreadCol has no properties
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/msgMail3PaneWindow.js
Line: 886

I think I've seen the first one before, so I think it is unrelated, but the second one looks a bit interesting, doesn't it?

Ok, update mail/base/content/msgMail3PaneWindow.js and you should be good to go.

Thanks, but the same variable is used on line 889, so it needs to be nuked there too.

Error: folderSizeCol has no properties
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/msgMail3PaneWindow.js
Line: 889

The code:

if (folderPaneUIVersion == 1) {
pref.setIntPref("mail.ui.folderpane.version", 2);
} // we fall through to the == 2 case so we'll upgrade v 1 profiles correctly
if (folderPaneUIVersion <= 2) {
var folderSizeCol = document.getElementById("folderSizeCol");
folderSizeCol.setAttribute("hidden", "true");
pref.setIntPref("mail.ui.folderpane.version", 3);
}
