I have been receiving notices to upgrade my Thunderbird v60 (32 bit) to v68.4.2. I have looked around this site and am unable to find instructions for this upgrade.

1. Will this upgrade automatically install v68 64-bit?
2. From some of the comments I found it seems to set up v68 separate from the older version. Is this true?
3. If true would I have to migrate my old profile to the new version?

Where are you receiving the notifications from? If it is from within Thunderbird there should be a button in the notification to download the update. If you don't see that then try Help > About Thunderbird.

No, it will not automatically install the 64-bit version.

Thunderbird 68 is the first version to follow along with dedicated profiles per installation that Mozilla added to Firefox 67.0.

No you be able to still use the current profile.
