I just found out there are two different versions of Thunderbird, depending on if you have a laptop or desktop. For desktops, the most recent version is 60.9.0. For laptops, It's like 70.0b or the like. Very strange.

The most recent desktop Thunderbird release is actually 68.1.0

The b on 70.0b means it is a Beta build meant more for devs, testers and QA and not Release.

Desktop Thunderbird being that it is not a mobile version and since there is no mobile version for Android or iOS anyways.

Thanks James. I tried updating past the 60.9.0 version via "Help" > "About Mozilla Thunderbird", but the message says that it is the most recent version.

Thunderbird version 68.1 is only offered as direct download from thunderbird.net and not as upgrade from Thunderbird version 60 or earlier. A future version 68.2 will provide updates from earlier versions.
