i got phoenix to compile and its in my dist/bin directory. i want to get rid of the source directory its in, and separate it so that i only have the flies needed to run phoenix. i dont think i can just move the bin directory since its a bunch of symbolic links. is there anyway to separate the two?

Heya,

I had the same question a couple of days ago.

Go to the dir xpinstall/packager, then do a:

Code: Select all
make MOZ_PKG_FORMAT="BZ2" PKG_BASENAME="phoenix-i686-pc-linux.`date +%Y%m%d`" MOZILLA_BIN="\$(DIST)/bin/phoenix-bin"

... and it will package only the stuff you need into a nice *.tar.bz2 package.

Another way to do it is with the -L or --dereference flag to the cp command. This will cause all links to be followed and the target to be copied.

In my case, after building phoenix, i do

cp -L ~/phoenix-source/mozilla/dist/* /opt/phoenix
