New Tab-key in address bar behavior

FF Nightly 20200206 has a new behavior where if I enter something in the address bar and autocompletions show up, pressing tab will change focus to the Search bar. Prior to this, pressing tab moves focus to the next autocomplete URL.

How do I change this behavior back or is it a regression bug?

NOTE: the Search bar is enabled.

File a bug. Lots of things changed in the address bar and they need to know when they change behavior for users.

(I'm not going to test as I gave up on the search bar years ago.)

Thanks. I filed a bug and it was quickly flagged as a dup of bug 1608766.

While the devs argue about what's best: fix or not fix due to whatever reasons, reporter of bug 1613894 found setting

browser.urlbar.update1.restrictTabAfterKeyboardFocus

to false reverted to the previous behavior.

Also regardless if the search bar is enabled or not the tabbing basically brings focus to the next widget (typically the overflow menu).

I suspect the update1 is a temporary flag to revert the current work-in-progress and eventually that flag will go away.

Agreed. Looks like 1608766 is not a bug but a change in behavior.

But the devs basically decided to word the configuration setting to toggle old/new behavior instead of defining a set of keys that can be used to go through results. The good ol' hard-coding your stuff w/out hardcoding it. Tab key is basically at the same place while down arrow placement has more variances. How is that an improvement? Guess those guys use downarrow or mice to perform filename/function completion....
