I'm on the last Aurora from 18.04.2017. And still no update to beta. It;s almost a month...
Any news when it will happen?
Still no ETA but there is something interesting in the comments to this bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.c ... 353825#c39
So it looks like DevEdition won't be just rebranded beta after all. Also, I guess the best source of news is the bug above ![]() Sorry for my poor English.
Automatic updates for "Aurora/DevEdition" stopped without offering switching to Fx 54 beta or 55 Nightly (daily Aurora builds are still posted on Mozilla servers). Since there is still no date when the switch (for current Aurora users) happens it is a valid question in my opinion, but reading "Mozilla Firefox > Firefox Builds > Future of Aurora Channel" thread might have helped preventing the question in the first place.
[quote="Arch5"], have you ever heard of thinking before replying?
Thank you, GHM113! But still 11 days ago was the last post... Newer is not always better, why do you need the beta version?
What is the currents version's issue?
Do you understand the purpose of this thread? Before there was Release < Beta < Aurora (developers edition) < Nightly development channels. Now it may end up being Release < Beta < Nightly From the linked bug, it might also become Release < [Beta or Dev Edition] < Nightly, with Beta and Dev Edition on the same branch, but Dev Edition enabling more diagnostic options and getting daily updates. In that case it's pretty much business as usual for current Dev Edition users, but Beta users will use something closer to Nightly.
Testers needed. DevEdition (re)builds available for testing - Google Groups Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630
Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5 According to this information - Bug 1353821 - (dawn-project) [meta] Dawn Project,
the plan is:
Virtualfox persona
Are you ready for deprecation of XUL & XBL & XPCOM extensions? Not?! Try Firefox ESR Next Monday.
(Just kidding, but nobody else really answered it. So, if it isn't then, it is on them to prove when.) i think it will be updated once 55 moves to the beta channel.
Updates get enabled once this bug is closed.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1358614 https://github.com/mozilla/balrog Can still manually update to none-QA version. (aurora didn't have much QA anyway.) https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=mozilla-beta Find the DevEdition for your OS. click the green N or B. Find the binary (depends on OS.) Builds aren't localized. ![]() Before I noticed this thread, I checked for latest Aurora builds - and found a newer one, from 5/10, so I installed it - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 ID:20170510004018 CSet: 94b7e538af7dbb9a6567cad9125c2f5411e7fb80
Now I'm puzzled, why was it even there? After seeing the above post, I tracked down the right Tinderbox build - but then I decided to not bother. I mostly run Nightly anyway. Just gonna wait until they fix that bug and updates are enabled - I don't have a fast enough Internet connection to be downloading Tinderbox builds every day, and there's no point in testing if you don't have the latest build. Firefox 59.0.2, Developer Edition 60.0b3(Win only), Nightly 61.0a1x64 (Win), Nightly 61.0a1 (Linux AMD64) .
ask Mozilla, you'd think Mozilla would of had the Aurora Channel Dislocated when they decided to dump that channel Last edited by Mouse5 on May 16th, 2017, 1:40 am, edited 1 time in total.
