...sounding, but I realize it doesn't work on phoenix .5

Has anyone managed to leech working, cause it sounds like a perfect fit for my needs. If not, could someone give me an idea as to what broke it? I'll give a go at seeing if i can get it working if somebody points me in the right direction.

I wasn't aware of any problems with it prior to the 02/01 build of Phoenix, when the new Options panel was checked in. Making it work with the builds after that would involve <a href=http://www.mozillazine.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5267>updating</a> the preferences.

It works fine for me, even back when I was on the earlier builds, is the best I can say.

If you want to try a working configuration, then put this in your user.js (my workaround for having it work in the post-Options builds):

Code: Select all
// leech setup
user_pref("leech.defaultDir", "c:\\temp\\leech\\");
user_pref("leech.fileExtensions", "jpg;jpeg;gif;png;mpg;mpeg;avi;mov;asx");
user_pref("leech.makeDirs", false);
user_pref("leech.overwriteHow", 1);
user_pref("leech.showManager", true);
user_pref("leech.tmpDir", "c:\\temp\\");
user_pref("leech.useMozUA", true);
user_pref("leech.usePrefix", true);
user_pref("leech.wgetLocation", "C:\\UnxUtils\\usr\\local\\wbin\\wget.exe");

You'll need to change various paths, of course. If you need WGet, there's a version that works with Leech in <a href=http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/>UnxUtils</a>.

Good luck.

As Thermopyle said, the problem is already there in 0.5
I haven't been able to get it working as of yet either. All builds after the milestone realease don't work either.
It seems as if wget simply doesn't get launched.

Ah, yes, but as <i>I</i> said, it's been working for me. Thus my pasting of a working configuration, and linking to the version of WGet I use. :-P

I managed to get wget to launch, but it wouldn't use any of the options I specified. That was a while ago, though. Maybe time to try again. I think it sounds like a really cool extension.
