new version

http://downloads.mozdev.org/cdn/linkToo ... 030207.xpi

makes it a toolbaritem per suggestion in the 2003 02 05 thread

one issue (in addition to the 'show as needed' bug),

when in the palette it takes up a lot of width,

do any other extension makers know what css I need to add to make it look better 'on the palette' ?

[ - 2200 GMT] may have been a bit optimistic
try 2300 GMT : )

Pallette appearance is controlled via CSS. Take a look at how they do URL Bar and Search Bar in one of the themes.

I just asked about css, but not CSS : )

found this at the bottom of global/textbox.css, although it isn't immediately any use : )

Code: Select all

/* ::::: textboxes inside toolbarpaletteitems ::::: */

toolbarpaletteitem > toolbaritem > textbox > .textbox-input-box > html|*.textbox-input {
  visibility: hidden;
}

Link toolbar is looking great. I've done some playing around and I found that if you add

#linktoolbar[hidden="maybe"][hasitems="false"] {
display:none !important;
}

to the stylesheet the "show only as needed" option works.

He seems to be right doing some testing with it. It seem to come up on only the sites that are suppose to.

Add this to the UserChrome.css
richwklein wrote:#linktoolbar[hidden="maybe"][hasitems="false"] {
display:none !important;
}

thanks richwklein, will get that into next release

:oops: I didn't do my detective work effectively,

xpfe/browser/resources/content/navigator.css [ aka chrome://navigator/content/navigator.css ]

Code: Select all

/* ::::: Hide the link toolbar if it is set to autohide and has no items. ::::: */

#linktoolbar[hidden="maybe"][hasitems="false"] {
  display: none;
}

now to fix the other 'problem' :

the size of link toolbar on the palette, when unhidden it's rather wide
