I cannot access the preferences toolbar extension after hidding it.

Documentation says I can show/hide the bar with F8 but I seem not to work.

I'm using Phoenix 0.4 (Oceano)

Thanks

Juanjo

This is due to incompatibility between Mozilla and Phoenix. The preferences toolbar author has a patch and will be posting an updated version "real soon now".

See the old Phoenix forums for more discussion (http://www.mozillazine.org/talkback/rea ... =157&t=157)

Meanwhile, if you close Phoenix and open your <profile>/localstore.rdf file using your favourite text editor and find this line:

<RDF:Description about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#prefbar"

the next line will contain hidden="true"

Set hidden="false", save, and start Phoenix. Toolbar should be back.

Rs,
Dave

I want to fix this too. I can only get as far as "chrome://browser/content/browser" - then it's all blank... I tried different text editors. Wordpad, Frontpage, etc. Any news on the patch release?

you might want to look at the QuickPrefs extension for Phoenix as well. Get it from http://quickprefs.mozdev.org/ or from the extensions page at http://texturizer.net/phoenix/

Note that cookie management in both QuickPrefs and Preferences Toolbar "broke" with 0.4 due to design changes that made Phoenix incompatible with Mozilla. (Un)blocking cookies can only be effected through the Tools->Preferences->Privacy menu. I believe the authors of both have been notified.

Cheers ...
