Though I prefer Mozilla to Netscape, one thing I do like about Netscape is the little tab at the left end of the personal toolbar to show/hide the Sidebar.

Has anyone come up with something to add this to Mozilla?

Or, is there a way to copy stuff from Netscape to Mozilla to add such a feature?

Thanks.

Actually the removal of the feature (which has come to be known as "grippies") during the 1.2 beta testing period was a hot topic for awhile. I doubt they'll return, though. Sorry.

Actually, I'm not talking about the "grippies." I never liked those anyway. :)

I'm talking about the Sidebar widget in the personal toolbar as seen in this image in its opened and closed states:

I don't think that was what was meant,

there is a button (if enabled) to the left of the home button on the Personal (tool)bar, which toggles the sidebar a la F9

[ < ] [ ] Home | [ ] Bookmarks .... with sidebar visible

I have looked everywhere in preferences but have found nothing to enable this feature. The only thing to the left of the home icon is the edge of my screen. Thanks for any help. This is something that I like in Netscape. I am using Mozilla 1.2.1. ---- Norman Hunter.

I would also love to have this feature returned to Mozilla, or at least a way to enable it for those of us who find it useful.

I've just dissected N7.01 (linux) and pulled out relevant pieces, I have a somewhat kludgey version implemented, sidebar toggles, but the image does not follow sidebar-state (yet)

Nice! Guess I'll have to start using the Orbit skin now.

if used on Moz 1.0.x / 1.1 with a N7 supporting theme, the theory is that it's icons should be used, Orbit Retro icons are there, so there is something to click : )
