I am using camino 2.0b4 it's faster than safari and firefox. But I have a problem when I try to check for updates, i receive a message "Update error". Somebody know what Do I need to do to correct this problem?. Any help will be appreciated. thanks

The update server is currently out of commission. It's expected to be a temporary problem, but we do know about it. :)

There's currently a problem with the server and we're working on it; see this post.

If you want to update to 2.0rc, you'll have to do so manually using the link in this post.

Ah, I was wondering why Camino did not Auto-Update on the Mac that I just got back from repair! For testing purposes: should I wait until the server goes into service again?

It wouldn't hurt, but it's not necessary, especially if you want fixes that are in the rc (the fullscreen Flash-Exposé crash being the big one, I think).

And we're live again; you should stop seeing error messages from checking for updates! :D

That reminds me... sometimes final release is identical to RC versions, sometimes not. Yet MOST RC versions I've seen seem to have no information it IS an RC version.

CAN the checking mechanism for Camino distinguish between an RC version and a final one?
